Bead Peeps 2019 Swap n' Hop Reveal

Just to recap, these are the beads I gave (left) and received (right) from my partner Lori Jean Poppe. There was so much to work with I hardly knew where to begin! But I did get four pieces done and several more are designed and ready to be made. I made two pairs of earrings and two necklaces thus far. I would have gotten started on more, but my hours at work increased over the past month and it's been a rough adjustment. Anywho, ON TO THE PICTURES!

These were the first earrings I made. I really wanted to showcase the gorgeous glass beads Lori gave me. I used silver cones, as well as some silver spacers on the ends from my own stash.









This is the second piece I made. The only part of it from the swap is that awesome little piece of sea glass. I used wooden and glass beads to make an asymmetrical necklace. It may be taken apart later,I'm not sure if I like it 100%

 

I love these earrings! I had never made tassels before, and wasn't sure I liked them. I used the pink/brown ribbon,brass cones and some wire to put these together. I've already gotten compliments on them.




Last, but certainly not least, this final necklace. The only part of this not from the swap are the stick pearls and the chain. I used the purple rondelles and yellow bicones as spacers and made the focal from the glass bead, flowers and tear drop dangles. I really enjoy this piece. Designing it was a bit of guess work at times, but a random day off gave me the space and time to work out the colors properly.

I will also post my completed WIPS these, such as a spring necklaces using the bird and butterfly charms, as well as some bracelet ideas. Bead Peeps Swap n' Hop 2019!

Here are the bead reveals from me and my partner Lori Jean Poppe for this year's swap. I am so excited for the reveal in April. I was given so many great things and have already finished some of my pieces.

Overview of what I received. So many things!

Lori made those beads in the bottom right! 
They are so pretty.

I'm fairly sure I got one bead in each color of the rainbow.

Lori made that heart pendant. 
She also gave me two oil blends to use on those 
two lava beads. They smell amazing.

On a related note, I purchased this dragon 
pendant from Allegory Gallery recently. 
I'm trying to puzzle out a good design for it. 
Any thoughts?

What I've been working on...Please keep in mind, some of these are taken on my phone, and thus not the best photos. I am learning._.

New Pieces and Updates

So much has happened in the past year, I'm not sure where to begin. I got a car that I share with my sister (who works at the same place I do, so it works). I became the assistant manager of the clinic I work at! I lost my cat, and my dog will be going in for euthanasia tomorrow. This year has had highs and lows, obviously.

 Anywho, your probably here for shiny things. I only have pictures of two of the pieces I've made recently. I made these necklaces for coworkers of mine. This first one is a brass pendant that says RESIST, along with some wooden and glass beads. 

This other necklace is the first one I've done with a front clasp, and I'm super happy with it. The pendant was actually mistakenly delivered, but my coworker loved the colors. I used stone beads, pearls, and some light blue glass bi-cones for spacers. 

So that's it for now. I really want to try and get back into writing regularly. Both this blog and my personal writing projects have been neglected of late. Eventually I would love to get a laptop, so I can work on writing wherever I am, and turn my desk into a craft space.
